Job Description
Oracle/Cerner Revenue Cycle Sr. Charge Services Analyst key focus on supporting, building, optimizing, and maintaining Cerner Revenue Cycle solutions with a focus on Charge Services, Charge Capture workflows, and integration with financial and GL systems. This role partners closely with Revenue Integrity, Patient Financial Services, Finance, Clinical Operations, and IT to ensure accurate charge processing, compliant billing, and seamless financial reconciliation within a healthcare organization. Experience with Soarian Financials very helpful.
System Support & Configuration
Provide advanced support for Cerner Charge Services, Revenue Cycle charge capture, and related GL workflows.
Configure, test, and maintain Charge Master, charge routing logic, charge events, and rules within Cerner Millennium.
Support integration points between Cerner and financial/GL systems (e.G., Lawson, Workday, Oracle, Infor).
Understand and work with Revenue Integrity and clinical departments to improve charge capture accuracy and completeness.
Analyze charge data, trends, and exceptions to support financial performance and regulatory compliance.
Assist Finance teams with GL reconciliation, charge posting validation, and revenue cycle reporting requirements.
Support end users—including analysts, billing teams, and clinical staff—with training, documentation, and workflow guidance.
Project & Enhancement Management
Lead or support IT and operational projects focused on charge improvement, automation, regulatory updates, and optimization of Cerner Revenue Cycle modules.
Participate in system upgrades, patches, and testing cycles to ensure operational readiness and system stability.
Work closely with vendors and internal IT teams on enhancements, issue resolution, and change management.
Ensure charge workflows adhere to compliance requirements including CMS, payer guidelines, and organizational policies.
Maintain documentation for system configurations, workflows, charge logic, and support procedures.
Required
5-7+ years experience in Cerner Revenue Cycle, Charge Services, or related healthcare IT application support.
Extensive hands-on experience and understanding of charge capture processes, hospital/ambulatory billing, and revenue cycle operations.
Experience with GL posting workflows and integration between clinical and financial systems.
Proven troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Understand Soarian, work with Soarian in the past
Experience with financial or ERP systems such as Lawson, Infor, Workday, or Oracle.
Familiarity with Revenue Integrity, Charge Master management, charge reconciliation, and downstream billing systems.
Exposure to eligibility, patient engagement, or scheduling modules is a plus.
Healthcare IT certifications (Cerner Revenue Cycle, CHC, HFMA, etc.) are beneficial.
