Morgan Hunter Healthcare is currently sourcing a LIS / Lab Analyst –our client requests a Sr. LIS Lab Analyst to lead complex analyzer migrations, lab builds, and expansion efforts across new ED sites and existing facilities. This role is critical in reducing reliance on Oracle AMS support and requires deep, hands-on experience with analyzer integrations and Cerner/Oracle Health lab systems. A candidate with extensive experience comfortable enough to execute the project without a heavy ramp-up. This is a remote-hosted Oracle Health organization operating within the Oracle Health Hosted (formerly CernerWorks) model.

In this role, the LIS Analyst will step into a highly impactful role supporting laboratory systems, analyzer integrations, and expansion initiatives.

This is not an entry-level/“learn-on-the-job”role —the organization requires someone who can:
  • Independently lead complex lab builds
  • Navigate analyzer integrations end-to-end
  • Operate effectively in a partially outsourced (AMS) Oracle support model

Core Responsibilities

Laboratory System Build & Optimization
  • Lead design, build, and optimization within the LIS (Cerner/Oracle Health lab modules)
  • Own complex workflows and configurations across lab environments
  • Troubleshoot issues beyond Tier 1/2 support, often bridging gaps before escalation to Tier 3

Analyzer Integration & Migration (HIGH PRIORITY)
  • Lead a multi-phase migration from:
    • Beckman Coulter / Remisol →Abbott Laboratories / AMS analyzers
  • Build and configure analyzer interfaces, including:
    • MDI (Medical Device Integration)
    • FSI (instrument/interface frameworks)
  • Ensure data integrity, interface stability, and workflow alignment across:
    • Main hospital lab with Two new freestanding ED labs

New Facility & Lab Expansion Support
  • Support stand-up of at least two freestanding Emergency Departments, each with:
    • Fully operational labs
  • Assist with integration and workflow design for:
    • New imaging sites
  • Ensure lab systems scale effectively with organizational growth

Upgrade & System Enhancements
  • Support ongoing Oracle Health code upgrades
  • Assist with solution uplift initiatives, including alignment with:
    • Clinical workflows
    • Interoperability efforts (e.G., Seamless Exchange)

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with:
    • Clinical teams/IT leadership/Informatics and Quality teams
  • Partner with Oracle AMS support, while owning internal delivery timelines

Future-State Support Considerations
  • Provide insight and potential support for:
    • Oracle Health FirstNet workflows (limited prior internal experience)
  • Help guide strategy for lab and ED workflow integration
  • Need to reduce dependency on external support by bringing expertise in-house
  • Client has ongoing rapid expansion (EDs + labs + imaging
  • Currently has complex analyzer migration already in motion

Requirements:
  • Strong Oracle Health / Cerner PathNet (LIS) experience
  • Proven track record with:
    • Analyzer integrations (Abbott, Beckman, etc.)/Interface frameworks (MDI, FSI)
  • Experience supporting:
    • Lab build in acute + ambulatory / ED settings
  • Comfortable operating in:
    • Hybrid support models (internal + AMS/vendor)
  • Able to lead independently and hit the ground running
